About Editorial & Designer Collaborations
When we work on editorial shoots, like our project with Anita Dongre, it is all about precision and creating a narrative. We do not just do makeup; we engineer the look to fit the brand aesthetic. For that specific '8' shaped bun you see in the gallery, we spent hours on heat-protecting, blow-drying in tiny sections, and careful shaping to ensure it stayed snatched and clean under studio lights.
Editorial makeup and high-fashion hair styling require a completely different mindset than bridal work. While weddings are about longevity and looking like yourself, editorial work is about telling a story and pushing boundaries. Whether it is a reverse smokey eyeliner or a sculptural updo, we love the challenge of translating a designer's mood board into reality. We view every campaign as a collaborative art project.
Our process for these projects begins with a deep dive into the styling. We look at the garments, the lighting, and the overall vibe of the shoot before we even open our makeup kits. We are based in Mumbai, which puts us right at the center of the fashion industry, allowing us to jump onto sets for celebrity shoots, magazine features, and brand campaigns at short notice.
We have always been obsessed with the 'clean girl' aesthetic and sharp, geometric hair, which is why working with icons like Anita Dongre felt like such a huge milestone.
