Party, Reception and Regional Saree Draping
Whether it is a family wedding, a reception, or an awards function, I help you look your best. From traditional regional styles to modern fusion drapes, I travel across Mumbai to get you ready comfortably.
This client was thrilled with her reception look in this shimmering purple silk saree. I created a neat, modern drape that was perfect for the evening celebration, allowing her to shine with confidence.
For a special event, I created this unique double drape look for the lovely Geeta ma'am. This artistic style uses two pallus to create a layered and dramatic effect, perfect for making a statement.
This client is getting her finishing touches of makeup after I draped her in this elegant silver tissue saree. This style is perfect for a reception or cocktail party, offering a sophisticated and modern look.
I also offer draping in regional styles from across India. Here, I draped a beautiful bride from Uttar Pradesh for her wedding ceremony, ensuring the style was authentic to her cultural traditions.
Dressed for success, this client is ready for her awards function. I draped her in this elegant organza saree with tight pleats to create a sharp, professional, and celebratory look.
A beautiful golden yellow silk saree draped for a client attending her brother's wedding. The classic Nivi drape is perfect for any festive occasion, providing timeless elegance and comfort.
I am always excited to try new styles. This was my first time pre-pleating a Gujarati style saree, with the pallu draped over the front. The result was a convenient and beautiful drape for my client.
About this collection
I do not just wrap the saree. For party or reception looks, I assess your blouse design and jewelry before deciding on the pallu style to ensure everything looks balanced. Whether it is a traditional Gujarati drape or a modern double-pallu, I work with 'romba porumaiya' (patience) to ensure every pleat is secure so you can move, dance, and enjoy without needing to adjust your saree all night.
Getting ready for an event should be a time to relax, not a source of stress. When I come to your home or hotel in Mumbai, my goal is to handle the technical details so you can focus on the occasion. I have experience with a wide range of styles, from the structured pleats of a Maharashtrian Nauvari or a Gujarati drape to the intricate layering of a South Indian fusion look.
If you have a heavy silk or stiff fabric that usually feels bulky, I use specific pinning and contouring techniques to make it sit flatter against your body, giving you a slimmer, more elegant silhouette. I am also happy to coordinate with your makeup artist and hairstylist to make sure the pallu placement works with your overall look.
For those who are short on time, I offer pre-pleating services for party sarees, which means I can prepare the structure of the drape in advance. On the day of your event, you can simply step into the skirt, tuck, and secure the pallu in minutes. Whether you are attending a grand wedding reception or a formal award ceremony, I make sure the drape remains intact from start to finish.
Drapes of Threads and Traditions
I am Viji, and I believe a saree is more than just fabric—it is a story. Growing up Tamil in Mumbai, I have spent years perfecting the art of the drape so you do not have to worry about a single pleat slipping at your party.
