About this collection
When we run our camps or set up at festivals like Kukdukoo, we prioritize the same screen-free, messy-hand atmosphere you find at our library. We do not just lecture about geography or history; kids engage with floor puzzles, folk dance movements, and DIY art that physically connects them to the subject.
It is not just about keeping kids busy; it is about providing a necessary detox from daily screens. Our approach to camps and community events is entirely hands-on. Whether it is a multi-day spring camp or a pop-up activity zone at a local festival, we want children to be active participants rather than passive listeners.
Our Camp Philosophy
Our Kids Spring Camp is a perfect example of how we structure our time. We pick a theme, such as exploring Indian states, and map out a journey through stories, toy-making, and folk dance. When we teach geography, we bring out floor puzzles. When we explore culture, kids are actually trying out dandiya steps or making local craft items. Bachche khel khel mein seekhte hain (Kids pick up new things while playing).
Bringing The Reading Room Outdoors
You will often find us taking our library magic on the road to festivals like Kukdukoo. We bring our beanbags, rugs, and art supplies to create a quiet, focused activity zone amidst the loud festival chaos. It gives children a moment to slow down and create something with their own hands.
What to Expect
- Small Batches: We keep groups manageable so every child gets attention and space to express themselves.
- Messy Fun: From paint to glue, we embrace the mess. That is how we know the kids are truly engaged.
- Screen-Free: No tablets, no videos. Just storytelling, props, and group interactions.

The Reading Room
I am Riddhika, and The Reading Room started because I wanted a space where books and play beat the screen every time. My team and I are here to build a community of little thinkers who are not afraid to get their hands dirty with paint, props, and puppets.
