About Shimmer, Chrome & Bling
Getting that mirror-like chrome or velvet cat-eye finish is not just about the polish, it depends on our dry manicure prep. We buff the nail specifically to ensure that the chrome powder or magnetic pigment adheres perfectly for that high-gloss, glass-like shine you see in our photos.
How we get that shine
Our 'Shimmer, Chrome & Bling' service is different from a standard color application. For chrome nails, we apply a specialized no-wipe top coat that needs to be cured for a precise amount of time before we gently rub in the pigment. If it is cured too little, the finish won't be smooth; too much, and the powder won't stick. For cat-eye designs, we use a magnet to move the metallic particles within the gel while it is still wet to create that depth and movement.
Durability and Care
Because these styles rely on specific gel top coats, they are quite durable. You can expect about 2 to 3 weeks of wear without chipping. To keep the chrome finish from dulling or the rhinestones from catching on your clothes, I recommend avoiding harsh chemicals like acetone and using gloves when doing heavy cleaning or dishes.
