My Creative Process: Behind the Art
A look into how I turn a blank wall into a story, one brushstroke at a time.
This is the essence of 'The Messy Hand'. I love the feeling of paint on my hands, a reminder that every piece is truly handmade, personal, and created with passion.
Lost in the details of a new canvas painting. This is my therapy, a quiet space where I can focus and pour my energy into creating something beautiful, one brushstroke at a time.
A smile captured mid-stroke. The joy of painting is something I hope to share through my work, bringing that same positive energy into your home through custom art.
Always ready for the next project with my trusty brushes. Whether it's a vibrant landscape on canvas or a detailed mural, I'm always excited to start creating something new.
From choosing the right brushes to making the first mark on the wall, every step is part of the creative dance. Here’s a glimpse of me working on a custom mandala mural.
About My Creative Process
Mapping out a wall is not just about measurement; it is about finding the center point that balances the room. Whether it is a dense mandala or an abstract wash, I spend hours with pencil and grid lines before a single drop of paint touches the surface to ensure the proportions are exactly right for your viewing angle.
How I Bring a Wall to Life
Many people think murals are just about the final image, but the process matters just as much. When you commission a piece, I don't use projectors to trace outlines. Every design starts with a custom grid drawn by hand. This ensures that the mandala or abstract pattern is perfectly scaled to your specific wall dimensions, rather than a generic design forced into a space.
The Workflow
- Concept & Consultation: We start with a chat about the room's current vibe. I prefer looking at photos of your furniture and lighting to ensure the color palette complements your home rather than clashing with it.
- The Sketch Phase: For complex work, I provide a digital mockup. This helps us visualize the scale before I start the manual drafting on your wall.
- Hand-Painting: This is where the 'Messy Hand' happens. I use artist-grade acrylics and fine-liner brushes for mandalas, or heavy-body paints for abstracts. It is a slow, meditative process.
- Sealing: Once the paint dries, I apply a protective varnish. This isn't just for shine; it makes the wall washable and protects the fine lines from smudging or fading over time.
Why Hand-Painted?
Unlike vinyl stickers or wallpaper, hand-painted art has depth. You can see the brushstrokes. You can feel the texture. It is not perfect, and that is the point. I work in homes and cafes across Delhi NCR, and I love creating pieces that feel personal because they were made specifically for that one wall in your life.
