Design is a conversation between textures, colours, and light. Explore our signature material palettes, from fluted wood to hand-painted tiles, crafted to make your kitchen feel truly lived-in.

Every project begins with a feeling, which I translate into a palette of materials. This mood board explores a combination of rich woods, patterned tiles, and different marbles, laying the groundwork for a kitchen full of texture and warmth.

This mood board captures a softer, more serene palette. The gentle blues, hand-painted floral tiles, and light wood samples come together to evoke a sense of calm and quiet elegance for an upcoming kitchen design.

Here, I was playing with the idea of nature-inspired details. The hand-painted bird tile, the leaf-motif diamond tiles, and the textured stone sample create a story that is both whimsical and grounded in natural beauty.

A mood board exploring a gentle contrast of materials. The delicate floral tiles, a pop of sky blue, and a uniquely curved metal handle against a marble slab are the beginning of a kitchen with a soft, artistic personality.

This mood board is for a very special client, bringing together nature-inspired wallpaper, floral motifs, and textured tiles. It’s the first step in translating a personal story into a real, livable space.

Fluted details bring a subtle but powerful sense of texture and depth to a space. Here, on these pale yellow upper cabinets, the vertical lines create a timeless feel that is both sophisticated and warm.

Solid wood flutings are one of my favorite ways to add character to a kitchen. They catch the light beautifully and bring a sense of craftsmanship and warmth that makes a space feel truly lived-in and real.

Fluted shutters add a fun yet minimalistic touch to any kitchen. The texture provides visual interest without overwhelming the design, making it a versatile choice for many different styles.

The fine, vertical lines of these solid wood fluted cabinets add a sophisticated texture that contrasts beautifully with the smooth, solid surface of the countertop and sink area.

About A Language of Materials & Light

Choosing the right finish is as much about feel as it is about function. When we layer fluted wood with ambient light, it doesn't just add aesthetic depth, it softens the acoustic rhythm of a busy kitchen, making the space feel quiet and grounded even when dinner is in full swing.

Every kitchen we build begins as a collection of textures. We believe that a space should not just look beautiful, but feel tactile and personal. This approach to material selection is what defines our work, moving away from standard templates and into a design language that is uniquely yours.

The Role of Texture

We are obsessed with how surfaces catch the light. Fluted wood, for instance, adds a subtle vertical rhythm to upper cabinets, breaking the monotony of flat shutters and creating shadows that change throughout the day. Similarly, we use mesh wicker or brass-net glass in crockery units to introduce warmth and breathability, ensuring that even closed storage feels light and integrated.

Crafting with Light

Lighting is never an afterthought in our process. We treat under-cabinet profiles and internal shelf lighting as essential elements of the design. By routing LED strips directly into shelves, we eliminate visible wires, allowing the glow to highlight the grain of the wood or the pattern of a backsplash without glare.

Your Material Canvas

Whether you prefer the nostalgic charm of hand-painted tiles or the clean, modern appeal of matte PU finishes, the materials we choose should reflect your daily rituals. We help you curate combinations that work together—layering botanical wallpapers, textured stone, and metal accents to create a space that feels curated rather than constructed. This is about making your kitchen feel like a sanctuary, a place where the materials invite you to linger over your first cup of chai.
