Kitchen Design Process: From Sketch to Execution
Every kitchen begins as a conversation. See how I transform initial sketches into warm, functional spaces through material trials and on-site coordination.

Testing out a mix of colors and finishes for a new client in Guwahati. This is a critical part of the design process, where we play with different combinations to find the perfect palette that reflects the client's personality.
A snapshot from a site visit, where the chaos of construction is slowly turning into a calm, ordered space. There's nothing like seeing the designs on paper begin to take shape in the real world.
Site visits are where the magic happens. Even with all the dust, seeing the details come to life, like this intricate ceiling we designed, is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
Sometimes it’s the smallest details that make me pause during a site visit. Getting these moments right is always worth the extra time and effort. Here I am, checking the alignment of the base cabinets.
A lot has been happening this month at The Kitchen Artisan. This is a peek into a site visit, where my team and I are discussing the placement of ceiling elements and ensuring everything is progressing as planned.

It might look like a mess right now, but trust me, it’s all coming together! It’s so exciting to see a space slowly transform from a construction site into a beautiful kitchen.
About Our Process: From Sketch to Sanctuary
Design is more than lines on a paper, it is a conversation that happens on the site. While we begin with sketches, the real work unfolds when we select materials and coordinate with the team, ensuring the finished kitchen feels exactly as we imagined it when we first picked up the pencil.
My design process is a layered journey. It does not happen in a studio; it happens between the drawing board and the construction site.
Phase 1: The Concept and Sketch. We start by understanding how you use your kitchen, from the morning chai ritual to the evening cleanup. We sketch out the flow, ensuring every corner has a purpose.
Phase 2: Material Selection and Trials. This is where we bring the vision to life. Recently, for a project in Guwahati, we spent days testing color and finish combinations until we found the perfect palette that matched the client's home. It is about playing with textures, from wood grains to glass finishes, to get the right feel.
Phase 3: Site Execution. This is the stage where the chaos turns into calm. I am personally involved in site visits, checking the alignment of base cabinets or the placement of ceiling elements. Whether we are installing a custom shelving unit or routing LED profiles, we rely on the skill of our team to execute these plans with precision. My goal is to ensure the final result is a kitchen that feels warm, welcoming, and entirely yours, not just a standard setup.
The Kitchen Artisan
I am Anjali. For me, design is about listening to how a family actually lives. My team and I do not just hand over drawings; we are on-site daily, ensuring every cupboard, hinge, and finish feels right. We build kitchens that feel like home, not just showroom displays.
