Private Sanctuaries: Custom Bedroom & Bathroom Design
Your bedroom should be more than a place to sleep—it should be your 'Kanasu'. We design intimate spaces that balance natural light, privacy, and raw, honest materials to help you disconnect and recharge.
This bedroom in the Kanasu project is designed as a tranquil retreat. A custom wood-paneled wall incorporates a display niche and side table, while large windows frame the view of the trees outside.
A spacious, light-filled bathroom in the Kanasu residence. We used large-format marble tiles for a luxurious feel and included a skylight in the shower area to bring in natural light while maintaining privacy.
This bathroom in "The Far Site House" uses wood-finish tiles and river pebbles to create a rustic, nature-inspired look. The walk-in shower with a rain shower head adds a touch of modern luxury.
The master bedroom in "Between Two Trees" features a platform bed and a backdrop of textured walls and wood paneling. The design is minimal yet warm, creating a calming environment.
A four-poster bed adds a touch of classic elegance to this bedroom. The room opens onto a private terrace, extending the sanctuary space into the outdoors.
The guest bedroom in "The Far Site House" features a custom-designed headboard with a geometric pattern made of wood and laminate. Pendant lights provide warm, focused light for reading.
A cozy reading corner in a bedroom, featuring a classic mid-century modern chair. We create these small, personal nooks within larger spaces for moments of quiet reflection.
About this collection
Before we draw a line, we think about the morning sun. We do not just place beds and baths; we design the exact angle where light hits your pillow or how a skylight in the shower connects you to the sky. It is about crafting a rhythm for your day, not just filling square footage.
We do not believe in standard layouts. A bedroom is a reset button for your brain. In our 'Kanasu' projects, we prioritize privacy without shutting out the world. Think large windows that frame the tree line, not the neighbor's wall.
For bathrooms, we break the 'ventilator' mold. Skylights, water bodies, and floor-to-ceiling glass turn a morning routine into a ritual. We use teak wood rafters, raw concrete finishes, and locally sourced stone because materials speak. They age beautifully, unlike plastic or laminates.
Our Approach to Sanctuary Design
- Light & Shadow: We study the sun path. Your bedroom should wake you up with soft morning light, not harsh heat.
- Wet & Dry Zones: We prioritize hygiene and maintenance by clearly separating areas, using materials like glass and stone for a seamless, clean look.
- Materiality: We use wood, stone, and brick because they are honest. We do not hide the grain; we celebrate it.
- The Process: From the electrical grid to the position of the shower faucet, everything is drafted for the human experience. If it does not make you feel calm, it does not make the cut.
