When we judge, we do not just stare at a scorecard. We look for the energy and the storytelling behind every move. My team and I have judged everything from internal corporate talent hunts to large-scale annual awards like the ones we did for Courtyard by Marriott. We break our judging criteria down into three main pillars:
- Choreography & Concept: Are they telling a story or just following steps? We love a good narrative.
- Stage Presence & Energy: This is the 'josh' factor. Even if a move is missed, if the dancer is enjoying themselves, the audience feels it.
- Overall Impact: How well the routine fits the theme of the event and engages the crowd.
