A little bit about my journey. With over a decade of experience that started at the Terence Lewis Academy and led me to Broadway Dance Center, NY, my mission is to make dance accessible and impactful. I lead my team with a focus on training, ethics, and creating a space for growth.
Here's a quick thirty seconds with me, Karishma. Being a founder means I'm always "dancing with decisions." This series is my way of sharing my unfiltered thoughts on the balance between being a creative and an entrepreneur.
I asked my team to describe what our company means to them in three words. Their answers, from "family" and "teamwork" to "fun" and "travel," capture the spirit of what we've built together. This is the heart of my company.
This company was built by a community of dancers, assistants, interns, and believers. Every person on this couch, and many more, has shaped our journey. When you work with us, you're working with a dedicated and passionate family.
About Meet the Visionaries: Our Team & Founder
When you book us, you are not just getting a choreographer. You are hiring a team that manages the logistics of your performance. From handling stage cues and lighting transitions to making sure everyone feels confident on the floor, we take care of the technical side so you can focus on the spotlight.
Urban Dancera started with just me, Karishma, and a passion for dance. Today, it has grown into a collaborative unit of dancers, interns, and creatives. My philosophy is simple. Educate, Entertain, Empower. We believe that whether it is a corporate gala or a luxury wedding, the performance should feel like a movie.
Our team is based out of our studio in Andheri West, Mumbai, but our reach is global. We have worked in places like Dubai, London, and Miami, bringing our signature style. It is a mix of technical skill and just enough sass to every stage.
What you see in our gallery is the result of late-night edits, intense rehearsals, and a deep love for the craft. We do not do flash mobs or cookie-cutter routines. Instead, we take the time to understand your story. We look at your brand values or your personal journey and translate that into movement.
Our process is built on clear communication. We handle custom audio mixing, provide tutorials for those who cannot make every rehearsal, and ensure that our technical team is in sync with your event's AV crew. When you work with us, you are working with a family that treats your event as their own. We handle the pressure so you can enjoy the magic of your performance.
