Keratin and Smoothening Treatments
Getting the right hair treatment should not be a guessing game. Whether you need to tame frizz or want a permanent straight look, I explain exactly what each process does so you can choose what is actually safe for your hair.
This before and after shows a typical result from our hair smoothening service. We transformed frizzy, wavy hair with some gray regrowth into a uniform, smooth, and sleek style that looks healthy and polished.
This client's hair was previously colored and had become dry and frizzy. A keratin treatment restored its health, smoothing the cuticle to create this soft, straight, and deeply conditioned result.
A perfect example of a smoothening treatment on long, thick hair. Notice how the initial frizz and unruliness are gone, replaced by a smooth, flowing, and healthy appearance.
This video shows two clients getting a hair smoothening treatment side by side. It demonstrates how the process works to tame different hair textures, leaving both with effortlessly smooth and frizz-free results.
A Kerasmooth treatment is an excellent option for achieving a natural, smooth look. This client was thrilled with her softer, shinier hair that still has natural body and movement.
We offer professional keratin treatments designed to give you lustrous, frizz-free hair. This service is perfect for anyone struggling with unmanageable hair who wants a smoother, easier-to-style look.
About Keratin & Smoothening Treatments
The most common confusion I see is between keratin and chemical rebonding. Keratin is a protein coating used to control frizz and add shine for 3-4 months, while rebonding is a permanent chemical restructuring for a poker-straight look. I always assess your hair's current damage levels and texture before recommending either to ensure we prioritize your hair's long-term health.
Know What You Are Booking
When you come into Tangles, we don't just pick a treatment off a menu. I want you to understand exactly what you are paying for.
- Keratin Treatments: This is my go-to for someone who wants to manage frizz, reduce volume, and get a healthy shine without going poker-straight. It lasts about 3-4 months and is great if you want manageable, soft hair.
- Permanent Rebonding: If you want that sleek, straight look and are ready for the maintenance of hair regrowth, this is the process. We break the hair bonds and rebuild them. It is a commitment.
- Hair Botox: This is not actually botox. It is a deep-conditioning, formaldehyde-free treatment that repairs the hair fiber. If your hair is brittle or lifeless from previous colors or heat, this is usually the better choice over a strong chemical treatment.
The Product Safety Standard
I am very strict about what goes on your hair. Cheap products often contain formaldehyde, which is a carcinogen and can seriously damage your hair over time. At Tangles, I only use trusted professional brands like L'Oreal and Schwarzkopf. If I cannot guarantee the safety of the product, I will not use it on you.
Life After the Treatment
Treatments require maintenance. The best salon job in the world will fail if you use the wrong shampoo at home. After your session, I will guide you on using sulfate-free products so your hair stays healthy and the results last as long as possible. If you are unsure which path to take, send me a message with a photo of your hair—I will tell you what will work and what is a waste of money.
