Creating a 3D sculpted cake is more like architecture than baking. While we love a light, fluffy sponge, these novelty designs require a much denser crumb structure to withstand carving and stacking. That is why we exclusively use dense mud or pound cake bases for our 3D work. It creates a satisfyingly heavy, moist texture that pairs perfectly with ganache, ensuring your cake survives the party travel and stays pristine until the moment you reveal it.
