About Festival Portraits
During these sessions, I focus on lighting that brings out the texture of traditional silk sarees and the warmth of festive elements like diyas or rangoli. I typically work with a 90-minute window, which allows us enough time to switch outfits or play with props like peacock feathers or marigolds, ensuring you never feel rushed while we capture the candid joy of the day.
How We Approach Festival Portraits
Photography is my way of slowing down time. When we meet for a festival portrait session, whether it is for Diwali, Makar Sankrant, or Durga Puja, my goal is to capture the traditions that matter to your family. I do not believe in stiff, uncomfortable posing. Instead, I look for the genuine smile when you are holding a plate of 'faral' or the quiet grace when you light a lamp.
My Process
- Preparation: We start with a brief chat about your vision. If you have specific props like clay diyas, fresh flowers, or traditional jewelry, we incorporate them to make the story yours.
- The Session: I use professional Sony and Nikon gear to handle tricky indoor lighting, ensuring your portraits look bright and vibrant, even in darker living rooms or event halls.
- Styling: I offer direction on posing so you look your best, but I always leave room for those raw, unposed reactions that tell the real story.
Why Choose My Style?
As a photographer, I find deep joy in our culture. From the Bengali 'dhunuchi' dance to the Maharashtrian ritual of tilgul distribution, I understand the significance of these moments. I am based in Navi Mumbai but frequently travel across Maharashtra. If you are looking for photos that feel like a memory rather than a studio production, let us start planning your session.
