About Creative & Photoshoot Styling
When I work on creative shoots, the lighting and concept dictate the makeup style, not just the outfit. For editorial work, I focus on specific textures and bold contrasts that hold up under professional strobe lights, which is quite different from event makeup. We can discuss your mood board and lighting setup before we start to make sure every highlight and shadow hits the right note.
Creative styling allows me to step away from traditional event constraints and push artistic boundaries. Unlike bridal makeup, which focuses on longevity and comfort for long ceremonies, editorial and photoshoot makeup is designed entirely for the camera lens.
In Bengaluru, I have worked on everything from dramatic Indo-Western fusion looks to classic Keralite concepts. Photoshoot makeup requires a deep understanding of lighting. If we are shooting outdoors in natural light, I lean toward a dewy, translucent skin finish. If we are in a studio with harsh strobe lights, I adjust the base coverage and contouring to prevent the skin from looking flat or washed out.
