Mindful Weaving Workshops in Bandra
Step away from the screen and learn to create. Join me for a slow, tactile session where you will set up your own loom, play with textures, and take home a handwoven tapestry made entirely by you.
A participant finding her creative flow during a frame loom weaving session. You can see the focus and care she puts into her mini tapestry as she works with colorful yarns, learning different handweaving techniques and patterns.
The beauty of weaving is in the details. This close-up shows a student concentrating on her pattern, carefully passing the yarn through the warp threads. It's a quiet, focused activity that allows you to be fully present.
There's a wonderful sense of community in my workshops. Here, two participants are helping each other set up a loom. It’s a friendly atmosphere where people can share ideas and learn together.
Every student gets individual attention to ensure they feel comfortable with the process. In this photo, I am guiding a participant through a weaving stitch, making sure she understands the technique before continuing on her own.
About The Mindful Weaving Workshop
One thing you will notice immediately is the Yarn Bar. I keep a buffet of colorful wool, cotton, and textured yarns open for you to choose from during the session, so your finished piece—whether it is a coaster or a small wall hanging—reflects your own style and does not look like anyone else’s.
Weaving is rhythmic. It is not just about the final product, but the quiet focus required to pass the shuttle through the warp threads. In these two-hour workshops, we strip away the technical intimidation often associated with fiber arts. You start with a wooden frame loom, and I guide you through warping, which acts as the foundation for the entire project. From there, we cover three fundamental stitches: the basic Tabby weave for structure, and Rya knots to add that soft, tactile texture.
We host these sessions at cozy spots in Bandra West like Method or Jaago Cafe, where the ambient chatter and a hot coffee create the perfect backdrop for slow, analog creativity. You do not need to bring anything; I provide the looms, needles, and a variety of yarns. You leave with a finished 4x4 or 5x5 inch piece that is entirely your own. It is a perfect way to reset your mind on a weekend and walk away with a functional piece of art.
