I breathe new life into ancestral homes, from sprawling city havelis to historic darbargarhs. My approach focuses on meticulous restoration of original features and adaptive reuse, turning these magnificent structures into functional, contemporary homes or cultural centers that honor their legacy.
Modern Heritage: Art Deco & Colonial Bungalows
My work extends to the icons of 20th-century India, including Art Deco residences and colonial-era bungalows. I focus on reviving these 'modern' heritage homes, carefully repairing features like terrazzo floors and timber balconies while retrofitting them for contemporary living.
The Restoration Clinic: A Pro-Bono Initiative
Through my 'Jugaadopolis' platform, I offer a pro-bono service to hand-hold owners through the restoration process for their everyday heritage. The Verdun House project in Mussoorie is a key example of how I collaborate with clients and train young professionals to co-create sustainable solutions.
