Sustainable Interior Materials: Natural & Breathable Choices

Choosing the right materials changes how your home feels. We move away from harsh chemicals and synthetic boards, opting for lime, clay, and wood that keep your space healthy, airy, and naturally cooled.

This video shows the process of preparing traditional lime plaster. Unlike cement, lime is a breathable material that helps regulate humidity, prevents fungus growth, and is self-healing. It's an ancient technique that I use to create healthier, more durable walls.

These are samples of natural wall cladding options made from Indian rock and clay. I prioritize using locally sourced, eco-friendly materials in my projects to reduce our carbon footprint and create spaces that are in harmony with nature.

About this collection

You do not have to choose between luxury and sustainability. When we use traditional lime plaster, we are not just going for an earthy aesthetic. Because lime is naturally alkaline and breathable, it actively prevents fungus growth and regulates room humidity, which is a significant upgrade over standard cement in damp NCR weather.

The problem with many modern apartments is that they are built like sealed boxes. Cement, synthetic paints, and particle boards trap moisture and heat, forcing you to rely on air conditioning throughout the day. We change that by using materials that respect the climate.

Why We Prioritize Natural Materials

  • Lime Plaster (Chuna): It is our go-to for healthy walls. Unlike standard cement, lime is porous and breathable. It absorbs excess moisture and releases it, keeping the air quality inside your home naturally regulated. It is also self-healing, meaning minor cracks are easier to manage compared to rigid cement plaster.

  • Natural Stone & Terracotta: We use these for cladding because they hold thermal mass. They stay cool in the summer and retain warmth in the winter, which helps lower electricity bills. Beyond the physics, they add a raw, textured beauty that you simply cannot get from tiles or wallpaper.

  • Rubberwood: This is our answer to the wood industry's waste. It is a byproduct of latex production, making it a renewable, sturdy alternative to endangered hardwoods. It is termite-resistant when treated correctly and takes finishes beautifully, whether you want a matte or gloss look.

We treat every site as a puzzle. Whether it is choosing the right thickness for a terracotta jaali to improve ventilation or mixing the perfect plaster ratio for your bedroom, we focus on the physics as much as the look. If you are tired of living in a concrete box and want a home that breathes, let us explore what natural materials can do for your space.
