About Behind the Lens: The Process & Workshops

I don't just capture images; I engineer them. In my Noida studio, every shoot is a deliberate construction—from using back projection to simulate outdoor environments to carefully adjusting Profoto strobes for that signature clamshell glow. When you see a final image, you are seeing the result of a controlled environment where the lighting, the styling, and the gear work in harmony to eliminate flaws and enhance the subject's natural features.

Photography is as much science as it is art. My approach is rooted in technical mastery, whether I am shooting a high-end commercial campaign or leading a workshop on advanced lighting setups.

The Projection Advantage

Location scouting is a logistical headache that often compromises the shoot. My studio in Sector 8, Noida, is equipped with high-resolution back projection systems. This allows us to simulate any environment—from gritty city streets to serene forests—without leaving the climate-controlled studio. It gives us total control over the backdrop, allowing for precision in color and framing that an outdoor location simply cannot offer.

Lighting That Sculpts

Light is king. Whether we are using clamshell lighting to create that 'sapaat chehra' (flat, glowing face) for beauty portraits or complex multi-point setups with Aputure and Profoto gear for jewelry, every light source is positioned with intent. I teach my students to look at the light, not just the subject. We analyze how cutters, fiber optics, and modifiers impact texture and sparkle, ensuring the final capture requires minimal post-production.

Workshops & Mentorship

My workshops are not just about theory. They are about 'doing.' We work with professional gear and real models, breaking down complex setups into digestible steps. You will learn how to handle global shutter technology with the Sony A9 III, how to manage a tethered workflow, and how to direct a team of stylists and makeup artists. This isn't just a class; it's a look at how a real-world fashion set operates from behind the lens.
