This is our philosophy in action. A team of European coaches, led by Heimir Hallgrímsson, sharing their global football knowledge directly with our players, coaches, and leaders right here at SFL.
The learning started in the classroom. Heimir Hallgrímsson leads a workshop with our SFL Oranje coaches, focusing on coaching philosophy, modern training methodologies, and long term player development.
What is success in an academy? Heimir challenges our coaches to think beyond winning, focusing on development and creating a positive learning environment. These are the foundational conversations that shape our entire system.
Day 1 was about connection. Heimir spent meaningful time with our youngest players from the U8, U10, and U12 age groups, sharing insights and joy for the game.
A moment of direct guidance. Heimir works one on one with a young player, demonstrating a fundamental skill. This hands on approach is central to our coaching method.
Day 2 moved into advanced learning with our U14 and U16 players. The sessions combined on field technical training with classroom discussions on tactics and player profiling.

On Day 3, we took our global mentorship program to Pune. Heimir led high energy sessions with our players and coaches, bringing the same intensity and focus to another one of our key centers.
Day 4 focused on leadership. Heimir conducted workshops and high intensity training with our senior men's and women's teams, translating our development philosophy to the highest levels of our academy.

This mentorship was not about autographs. It was about our coaches and players pressure-testing our systems against European standards. Whether your child is U8 or U16, our curriculum is now directly informed by the same principles Heimir Hallgrímsson uses to train the Ireland national team.
We hosted Heimir Hallgrímsson for a week-long residency because we believe our players deserve exposure to how the game is taught at the highest levels. This program moved from the classroom to the turf, bridging the gap between theory and execution.
