A glimpse into our international project in Dubai, where clean, contemporary design meets functional precision.

My first visit to the Dubai villa project in Al Barari. It's a beautiful, modern space with clean lines. My goal on these initial visits is to spend time feeling the space and understanding its potential before diving into the design.

A quick tour from the top floor of the Dubai villa. This space opens up to a sunny terrace with an amazing view, perfect for outdoor entertaining. You can also see the central courtyard, which is the heart of this beautiful home.

Come with me on a brief tour of a spacious villa we designed in Dubai. Here, we focused on creating an open, multifunctional layout for modern family living. Notice the backlit stone bar and the seamless flow between the living and dining areas, all designed to be both elegant and welcoming.

A glimpse of the finished living room in the Dubai villa. The design is centered around a serene, all-white theme, with sculptural furniture and layered textures creating a calm yet sophisticated atmosphere.

Another look at the Dubai villa, where we played with different shades and textures of whites and beiges. A neutral canvas like this provides the flexibility to add pops of color through furniture, fabrics, and art.

A busy day on-site at our Dubai project. Here, I'm inspecting the functionality of a moving wall, a clever design feature that acts as a partition to conceal the kitchen, seamlessly merging with the wall when closed.

A candid look at the ongoing work at our Dubai site. Managing overseas projects requires constant communication and collaboration with the local teams to ensure our design vision is being executed perfectly.

Working on overseas projects is always a learning experience. This video shows a virtual meeting with our team in Dubai, discussing specific details like shelf additions inside a cabinet. This is how we manage projects remotely with precision.

Our first day in China, sourcing furniture for the Dubai project. We came prepared with detailed drawings, sizes, and mood boards, which made the selection process efficient and exciting.

About International Projects: The Dubai Villa

This Al Barari villa project was an exercise in logistical precision. Beyond the aesthetics, we had to manage global procurement, sourcing furniture from China and coordinating custom fabrication in Dubai while supervising the site remotely from India. The kitchen features a clever moving partition wall that I designed to hide the utility zone when not in use, allowing the space to merge seamlessly with the living area.

Managing a project internationally requires shifting from just designing to project management and clear communication. For this villa, my focus was on creating a modern, neutral canvas—a space that prioritizes light, flow, and texture over heavy ornamentation.

We relied on a strict process to maintain quality from afar. Before we visited showrooms in China to finalize cabinetry and fixtures, we had already prepared full-scale drawings, mood boards, and specific material palettes. This preparation made the ordering process efficient and ensured that every piece we selected matched the exact dimensions and finishes required for the Dubai site.

Key design elements included:

  • Lighting and Materiality: We used backlit stone for the bar area, creating a focal point that transforms with the time of day.
  • Functional Zoning: The living and dining areas are designed for flexibility. By using a monochromatic palette of whites and beiges, we kept the large space feeling calm and expansive, relying on layered textures rather than color to add depth.
  • Remote Collaboration: Virtual meetings with manufacturers were essential. We went through every detail, from cabinet shelf thickness to lock mechanisms, to ensure the execution matched our vision.

This project taught me that excellent design is rarely just about the final image. It is about the hundreds of decisions made during the construction process, the coordination between local contractors and international suppliers, and the constant, clear communication that ensures the finished home feels exactly as intended.
