My Personal Haircare Routine & Tips
I’m Archana, and here’s how I keep my hair healthy with simple, consistent routines. From the perfect weekly champi to managing frizz, these are the techniques and products I actually use.
Here are my simple, go-to tips for maintaining healthy hair and encouraging growth. Following a consistent routine with the right techniques, like using a microfiber towel and massaging your scalp, can make a huge impact.
This is my weekly champi ritual. I apply oil directly to the scalp, not the hair, and massage gently to improve scalp health without weighing hair down. I always follow up with a gentle shampoo and conditioner.
I always recommend using a leave-on hair serum on damp hair after every wash. It helps detangle, protects from pollution and heat damage, prevents breakage, and adds a natural shine to your hair.
During winter, my hair gets dry and my scalp becomes flaky due to seborrheic dermatitis. In this video, I share my winter routine, which includes an anti-dandruff hair mask and a protein conditioner to keep my hair healthy and scalp clear.
If you have curly, wavy, or coily hair, your care routine is a bit different. I've put together some specific tips, like co-washing and combing only when wet with conditioner, to help you manage and define your beautiful curls.
About My Personal Haircare Routine & Tips
A good champi is non-negotiable for me, but the secret is in the technique. I only apply oil to the scalp—never the lengths—and gently massage for 5-7 minutes before washing. It keeps my hair growth on track without weighing it down, and I always follow up with a sulphate-free wash.
Real haircare isn't about expensive salon treatments; it’s about consistency. Since I started Soaps & More, my goal has been to simplify the process for Indian hair, which often struggles with our humidity and hard water.
My weekly rhythm is simple. I start with a proper champi (oil massage) once a week—but never on the hair lengths, just the scalp. I massage gently for 5-7 minutes to boost circulation without breaking the follicles. If you have dandruff like I do (I manage seborrheic dermatitis), I often swap the oiling for a scalp treatment mask.
When it comes to washing, I avoid harsh detergents. My shampoo bars or herbal cleansers are all sulphate-free and paraben-free. After every wash, I never skip the conditioner—it's essential for detangling and adding moisture back. A tip I swear by: use a microfiber towel or an old cotton t-shirt instead of a rough towel to dry your hair, and always use a serum on damp hair to protect against sun and pollution.
If you're wondering where to start, I don't believe in one-size-fits-all. Whether you're dealing with hair fall, premature greying, or dry frizz, I have specific kits—like the Redensyl Hair Growth & Repair or the Anti-Grey Treatment—that I’ve formulated myself. If you're unsure about your hair type or porosity, just reach out. I can help you pick the right routine, and we even offer sample packs so you can test before you commit to a full bottle.
