About First Birthday Cake Smash
The best part about these sessions is the three-step flow I follow: we start with formal, clean portraits, move to the messy cake smash, and finish with a warm bubble bath cleanup. It keeps the baby happy and ensures we get both those cute outfits and that adorable, frosting-covered grin in one session.
Your Little One's Big Day
Turning one is a whirlwind of milestones. One minute they are newborns, and the next they are walking around the house! A cake smash is the perfect way to freeze this chaotic, wonderful energy. My studio in Paschim Vihar is set up to be a safe, comfortable space where your child can just be themselves.
How the Session Works
Every session is about 2.5 to 3 hours long. I do not rush. We need time for the baby to settle in, have a snack, or just get used to the camera. We start with formal portraits so you have some classic photos in their best outfit. Then comes the smash—this is where the fun begins. Whether it is a Winter Wonderland theme or a Carnival vibe, I have all the props, balloons, and buntings ready to match the aesthetic you choose.
Practical Details
- The Cake: I provide the decor, outfits, and props, but I ask parents to bring the cake. This ensures you can pick one that fits your child’s dietary needs or allergies perfectly.
- The Cleanup: Do not worry about the mess. That is why the bubble bath session is my favorite part of the flow. It’s warm, fun, and the perfect way to get them cleaned up before heading home.
- Family Inclusion: While the focus is on the birthday star, I always encourage a few shots with you. It is a big day for parents too, and these family photos often end up being the ones you print for the living room wall.
