Healthy skin is built on consistent habits, not just expensive treatments. Whether it is shielding your skin from indoor UV rays or fixing a damaged barrier, here is how you can protect your skin from daily damage and keep it glowing.

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, but it does more than prevent sunburn. It protects you from UVB rays that burn and UVA rays that cause aging and pigmentation. It is your daily defense.

This visual busts common sunscreen mistakes. You need to apply it even at home or on cloudy days, and makeup with SPF is not enough for full protection. Daily application is key.

Many people think a higher SPF number makes them invincible, but that is not true. The difference between SPF 30 and 50 is minimal. The real superpower is reapplying it every 2 to 3 hours.

How much sunscreen should you use? The two finger rule for the face and neck is a great guide. I also advise my patients not to skip their ears, neck, and hands, as they age the fastest.

Your SPF needs can change based on your location. I generally recommend SPF 30 for indoor use near windows and SPF 50 or higher for direct outdoor exposure, sports, or beach days.

Sugar does more than affect your health; it affects your skin. It spikes insulin, which can trigger acne and accelerate the aging process from within by damaging collagen.

Over washing your face does not mean cleaner skin. In fact, it strips your skin of its natural oils, weakens the protective barrier, and leads to increased dryness and irritation.

During hot and humid weather, a minimalist skincare routine is best. This simple 3 step AM routine focuses on a gentle gel cleanser to start your day with a sweat proof glow.

Playing Holi should be fun, not harmful to your skin. Here, my husband and I share some quick pre and post Holi care tips, like deep moisturizing and using gentle cleansers, to keep your skin safe.

About Daily Skincare & Prevention

Stop looking for a magic cream to fix years of neglect. The most impactful anti-aging treatment is actually sunscreen, and not just when you step outside. UV rays penetrate through windows and reflect off surfaces, causing silent collagen breakdown and pigmentation while you sit at your desk. If you are awake and near a window, you need SPF. It is the single most effective preventive step you can take for your skin health.
