Treating Acne Scars and Enlarged Pores
Acne scars require a precise, clinical approach rather than generic procedures. I evaluate your specific scar types and skin texture to create a treatment plan that addresses the root tissue damage.
Understanding the type of acne scar you have is the first step. This short guide explains the differences between icepick scars, which are deep and narrow; rolling scars, which create an undulating texture; and boxcar scars, which are round or oval depressions with sharp edges.
This video shows a powerful combination therapy for significant skin rejuvenation and scar improvement. The process begins with drawing blood to prepare Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), followed by a Fractional CO2 laser session to resurface the skin, and finally, injecting the PRP to accelerate healing and boost collagen.
Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a very safe and effective procedure for improving skin quality. By creating controlled micro-injuries, it stimulates your skin's natural repair mechanisms to produce new collagen and elastin, which helps reduce scars, fine lines, and even stretch marks.
There is no single solution for every acne scar. I use a variety of proven methods, including chemical peels for pigmentation, subcision for depressed scars, advanced lasers for resurfacing, and fillers for instant volume. I will assess your specific scar types to create the right combination plan for you.
About Treating Acne Scars & Pores
I do not offer one-size-fits-all packages. Whether you have deep icepick scars that need subcision or rolling scars that respond better to laser resurfacing, my process starts by identifying the specific tissue damage underneath. During your consultation in Indiranagar, we will determine if your skin requires a fractional CO2 laser, microneedling radiofrequency, or a combination of techniques to rebuild collagen safely.
When treating acne scars, the first step is accurate classification. I categorize scars into icepick, rolling, and boxcar types because each requires a different mechanical or energy-based intervention. A rolling scar, for instance, often involves fibrous bands pulling the skin down. For this, I perform subcision to release those bands, allowing the skin to lift naturally.
For texture refinement and deep resurfacing, I utilize the Fraxis Duo system. This allows me to use either fractional CO2 laser for surface ablation or microneedling radiofrequency (MNRF) to deliver energy deep into the dermis. This controlled thermal injury stimulates your skin's natural repair mechanisms, forcing the production of new collagen and elastin.
Treating scars is a long-term commitment. It is not about a single session or a miracle fix. You should expect a series of treatments, usually spaced out to allow for proper healing and collagen remodeling. My protocol includes high-strength topical numbing and immediate post-procedure cooling with collagen sheet masks to ensure safety and minimize downtime.
Whether you are dealing with persistent post-acne pigmentation or deep, tethered scars, the goal remains the same: a gradual, safe improvement in your skin's quality and your overall confidence.
