About Medical Dermatology
How I Approach Skin, Hair & Nail Concerns
I believe in getting the basics right: proper diagnosis, evidence-based treatments, and no shortcuts. My work is about understanding what’s really causing your skin or hair issues, not just covering them up. No magic, no big promises - just honest care that’s backed by science and what actually works.
What I Usually See
- Acne & Scarring: Most patients come in for acne and the marks it leaves. Popping pimples? Waste of time, and you’ll end up with scars. I use peels, lasers (like Qs Nd:YAG), microneedling, subcision, and sometimes fillers, depending on the scar type. Most folks start seeing change in about 8-12 weeks if they stick to the plan.
- Pigmentation & Melasma ("Bangu"): Those brown, patchy marks on your face - super common here. Sun protection is a must. Treatments can include topical creams, peels (like COSMELAN), and lasers. For darkness around the mouth or lips, I always try to figure out the cause first.
- Psoriasis, Keratosis Pilaris, and Dark Neck: Stress can mess with your skin (especially psoriasis). "Chicken skin" bumps (keratosis pilaris) can be smoothed out with the right routine. Dark neck (acanthosis nigricans) isn’t dirt - usually, it’s linked to things like weight or sugar issues.
- Hair & Nail Issues: Hair loss can be from genes, stress, or conditions like Alopecia Areata. Diagnosis is key. Dandruff that won’t quit? Might need more than just another shampoo. Ingrown toenails can be sorted in-clinic, usually quick and with little pain.
What to Expect
No overnight wonders. Consistency and the right advice is what pays off. My goal is to help you understand your skin, stick to what works, and get results that actually last.
