About Scar Revision & Treatment
How I Tackle Scars
Scars aren’t just a skin problem - they can mess with your confidence too. I get it. Whether it’s acne marks, bangu (melasma, aka stubborn pigmentation), or surgical scars, I start by checking your skin myself. There’s no single fix for every scar, so I create a plan that actually fits what you need.
Types of Scars I See Most
- Acne scars: Icepick, rolling, boxcar, pigment marks. I see these all the time. We aim to smooth out the texture and lighten dark spots.
- Keloids: Raised, tough scars that refuse to chill. I focus on flattening and making them less noticeable.
- Surgical, injury scars & stretch marks: Whether it’s from a surgery or a bad fall, I use the same principles to help fade old marks and stretchies.
My Toolkit for Scar Revision
- Fractional CO2 laser: Works wonders for resurfacing acne scars and open pores by boosting new skin and collagen.
- Microneedling radiofrequency: Fine needles + RF energy = better collagen and smoother texture, especially for deeper scars.
- Subcision: For depressed scars, I use a tiny needle to loosen up the tough bands underneath so the skin can lift.
- Other options: Chemical peels for pigmentation, dermal fillers for instant lift, punch excision for deep scars, and PRP to speed up healing.
What You Should Know
Scar treatment is a marathon, not a sprint. Results need patience, sometimes a few sessions, and we’re aiming for improvement - not miracles. I’ll walk you through every step, keeping things real and safe.
