My Journey in Art: From Sketches to Portraits

Every portrait I draw carries the history of my 20-year journey—from sketching in Samastipur to illustrating for newspapers in Delhi. When you order a piece, you aren't just getting a drawing; you are getting the result of the same persistence and detail-oriented approach I’ve honed since 1999.

It all started in a small village in Samastipur. As a child, I used to borrow torn books from seniors, copying the illustrations to fix the missing pages. That was my first school of art. This 'art ka keeda'—the itch to create—never left me, even after I moved to Delhi.

In 1997, I came to the capital to be a full-time cartoonist. It was a time of immense struggle, but it also taught me the grit required to make art that connects. During that time, I even contributed editorial illustrations to the Hindustan Times for over two years. While I eventually moved into the professional design industry to sustain myself, I never stopped drawing.

Today, my work is a blend of that early raw passion and the discipline I learned over decades. Whether it is a tribute to an actor like Prakash Jha—whom I had the honor of sketching back in 1999—or a personalized gift for a corporate farewell, I bring the same focus to every stroke.
