Whether you want to draw stunning 3D illusions or capture the fine details of Delhi's landmarks, I'll teach you the techniques to make it happen.

This running shoe is a 3D drawing created with colored pencils and markers. I'll show you the secrets of shadow and perspective to create your own mind-bending 3D art.

The first step in my Ram Mandir drawing: a clean line art sketch using a pen. This is the foundation for any detailed architectural piece.

Beginning the coloring process on the Ram Mandir sketch with light base layers of alcohol markers.

Adding mid-tones and shadows to the Ram Mandir drawing to start building depth and form.

The final colored version of the Ram Mandir, completed with markers. You can learn this entire process, from line work to coloring, in my classes.

An on-location sketch of India Gate, done with fine-liner pens. I encourage students to practice urban sketching to improve their observation and speed.

About Architectural & 3D Sketching

You might think 3D art or complex building sketches are hard, but they are really just layers of simple shapes combined with the right shading techniques. In my studio, I don't just give you a list of rules, we actually sit down with pens and markers to figure out how to build depth and perspective from scratch. Whether you want to draw a historic monument or a floating shoe, I will teach you how to control your lines so the final piece actually looks like it is popping off the page.

Building Your Perspective

Architecture and 3D drawing rely on understanding how to manipulate lines and shadows to create the illusion of depth. When we work on architectural pieces like the India Gate or the Ram Mandir, I teach you to start with simple line art using fine-liner pens. This is the foundation. We don't rush the details; we focus on proportions first.

The Process We Follow

  • Line Work: We start with clean, steady lines to establish the structure. You will learn to use different nib sizes to add weight to your sketches.
  • Base Layering: Once the lines are set, we add color or value. With markers, this involves light, flat layers. Think of it like priming a wall before painting.
  • Adding Depth: This is where the magic happens. We layer shadows and mid-tones to make the structure look solid and realistic.

Why Practice in a Studio?

Drawing at home is great, but sometimes you need to bounce ideas off someone or just watch how another artist handles a pen. My studio in Dashrath Puri is open, quiet when it needs to be, and filled with art references. You will have Wi-Fi access to pull up architectural references, and I am right there to guide your hand if the perspective feels off. It is a space to learn, mess up, and try again until you nail it. If you are curious about the mechanics behind a drawing that catches your eye, come join a batch. Let's get sketching!

I'm Shubham, and for me, art is about seeing the world differently. I love teaching the mechanics behind 3D art and architectural drawings because once you get the perspective right, the whole drawing comes to life. My studio is all about that relaxed vibe where we just focus on creating something cool together.
