From the mist-covered Matheran toy train tracks to the sun-drenched coastal roads of Gokarna, I capture the raw beauty of the journey itself.

A cinematic reel of the Matheran toy train journey, one of Maharashtra's most beautiful train rides, especially during the monsoon.

A behind-the-scenes look at capturing a scenic train journey in the Maharashtra monsoons. Tag your squad for a trip like this.

Summer days in Goa. Sometimes all you need is a beach, some good company, and the sound of the waves.

The monsoon is near. A moody reel capturing the feeling of waiting for a train in the rain and walking on misty railway tracks in Matheran.

An aerial view of a train crossing a bridge in the lush green landscape of the Western Ghats during monsoon.

I chose Gokarna over Goa, and I'd do it again. This reel captures the calm beaches, stunning views, and peaceful moments of this hidden gem.

Another look at the most beautiful train journey in Maharashtra. The toy train winding through the misty forests of Matheran is a magical experience.

In the next few months, Maharashtra will look like this. A preview of the stunning waterfalls and green landscapes that come alive during the monsoon.

A moody shot of people riding horses through the foggy forests of Matheran. This hill station near Mumbai is a must-visit during the monsoon.

A lone figure walking through the dense, misty forest of Matheran. The atmosphere here is straight out of a fairy tale.

About On the Move: Scenic Road & Rail Trips

Every road trip or train ride I capture is about finding the calm within the chaos. While most travelers are focused on the final stop, I am obsessed with the frames in between—the misty windows, the passing green ghats, and that specific light at golden hour. If you want to learn how to turn these transit moments into cinematic stories rather than just snapshots, let's chat about my upcoming travel workshops.

My approach to documenting road and rail trips is simple: look for the story that isn't the destination. Whether I am shooting the toy train in Matheran during the monsoon or driving along the Konkan coastline, I focus on the textures and the vibe of the journey.

Why focus on the journey?

Most people travel to arrive. I travel to see. When I take groups out on expeditions, we spend time mastering how to shoot through moving glass, how to stabilize drone shots over winding roads, and how to use light to make a simple train ride feel like a movie scene.

What I teach on the move:

  • Cinematic Movement: Using your phone or camera to capture smooth, stable footage from a moving vehicle.
  • Low-Light Scenarios: Handling the tricky lighting in tunnels or cloudy, rainy mountain passes (especially common in the Western Ghats).
  • Finding the Angle: Looking beyond the obvious tourist views to find the hidden composition in rail tracks or roadside tea stalls.

Whether you are joining me for a quick weekend photo walk or a longer expedition to Ladakh or the Northeast, the goal is the same. We create a community where everyone contributes to the story. You don't need expensive gear to start. If you have a smartphone and a curious eye, you have everything you need to start documenting your own path.
