About Additional Work & Behind the Scenes
People often ask if the grass is pre-cut or grown to order. We do not keep old stock lying around; our team harvests the rolls directly from the farm on the morning of dispatch. This ensures the roots stay moist and vital, giving your lawn the best chance to take hold once we lay it on your site.
A perfectly smooth, green carpet of grass requires a lot of labor before it arrives at your gate. I started Shiv Nursery in 2001 to ensure that the grass reaching my clients is not just sitting in a warehouse, but is cut fresh to maintain its root health.
The Harvesting Process
We use specialized machinery to lift the grass with about an inch of natural farm soil intact. This soil base is crucial. It protects the root system during transit and acts as a buffer when we lay it on your prepared soil. Whether it is Bermuda, Selection No. 1, or Mexican grass, the moisture level in the root zone is the difference between a lawn that thrives and one that wilts.
Logistics and Care
We ship across India, from Delhi to Dehradun and beyond. Loading grass onto trucks or trains requires specific stacking techniques to prevent the rolls from drying out or heating up in transit. For local orders in Delhi NCR, we often manage delivery the same day. By overseeing everything from the farm harvest to the final installation team, I make sure the quality stays consistent. If you are preparing a large commercial ground or a small residential patch, the process remains the same: fresh harvest, careful loading, and prompt delivery.
