About Whimsical & Storybook Themes
In this cluster, we do not just put a baby on a prop. Whether it is a crescent moon or a miniature armchair, every setup is built around safety protocols where we use digital composition for tricky poses—such as hanging items—while ensuring your baby is always on solid ground, monitored by our trained assistant.
Creating a storybook aesthetic is about more than just finding the right prop. It is about building a miniature world that feels timeless. When we design a "Whimsical & Storybook" session, we look for textures and light that mimic the softness of a fairy tale.
Our Creative Process
For these themes, we move away from standard studio backdrops. We use handcrafted nests, vintage books, miniature beds, and floral arrangements that are carefully selected to look like they belong in a storybook. We source props that are gentle on newborn skin—organic wool, soft lace, and natural fabrics.
Safety First, Always
The biggest question we get is, "Is the baby actually hanging in that wreath?" The answer is always no. We use composite photography techniques. We photograph the prop setup separately and then gently pose your baby on a safe, comfortable surface. We then layer these images together in post-production. Your little one stays snug and secure on our studio beanbag, while we create the magic of them floating or sleeping on the moon safely.
Planning Your Shoot
The best time to capture these shots is when your baby is between 7 and 15 days old, as they are naturally sleepy and curled up. Our Defence Colony studio is climate-controlled specifically for this, kept at 26-28 degrees Celsius to keep them warm. You do not need to bring a thing—our wardrobe of rompers, bonnets, and wraps is ready for you.
