The Pro Athlete Journey: Tennis Training
I’m Shane. Being an active ITF professional means I am always learning, and I bring those fresh lessons from the tournament circuit directly to our sessions in Bangalore.
This is a look into my life training for and competing in an ITF tournament in Egypt. The journey of a pro player involves constant training, travel, and learning, and I share all of it with my students.
A moment of focus during a competitive match. The mental game is just as important as the physical one, and I work with clients on building resilience and staying present during high-pressure points.
About The Pro Athlete Journey
When I am on the ITF tour, I am constantly tweaking my biomechanics and mental game under pressure. I bring this exact intensity to my coaching sessions in Bangalore. You will find that my court time is split between technical stroke correction and tournament-grade fitness, using calisthenics to build the agility you need for long matches.
My philosophy is simple: if it does not challenge you, it will not change you. My journey from playing ITF Futures tournaments to coaching at the KSLTA Stadium has taught me that the best tennis players are athletes first. When we step onto the court, we focus on the stuff that wins matches, including point construction, mental resilience, and explosive power.
We do not just rally. I use the Slinger Bag to maximize stroke repetition, and we dedicate time every session to agility ladders and core work. Whether you are a beginner looking for grip correction or a competitive player needing high-intensity sparring, we will structure the session to suit your goals.
Because I am still active on the circuit, my coaching includes practical gear advice. I have direct access to partnerships with brands like HEAD and Asics, so I can help you pick racquets and strings that match your playstyle rather than just what looks good on the shelf.
Whether you sign up for my weekly batches at KSLTA or prefer a private 1-on-1 session to work on your biomechanics, expect to be challenged. This is about real progress, not just hitting balls.
