Couple Portraits: Engagement & Wedding Photography
Capturing the quiet connection between you two. No rigid posing, just real moments shot against natural outdoor backdrops.
A quiet, intimate portrait that feels completely natural. I often guide couples into gentle poses like this to capture their connection without feeling staged, focusing on the soft light and their expressions.
Pure, unscripted laughter. These are the moments that truly define your wedding story. This black and white candid shot captures the genuine happiness of the couple during their outdoor session.
Another angle from a moment of shared joy. Capturing these interactions from different perspectives provides a fuller, more dynamic story of your day.
An embrace that says everything. I framed this shot to highlight the bride's beautiful saree and the couple's closeness, with the soft, natural background adding to the romantic feel.
A tender moment between the couple. The focus is on their embrace and the rich details of the bride's traditional attire, from the texture of the saree to her intricate jewelry.
A close-up shot that emphasizes the emotion and the details. You can see the bride's stunning jewelry and the groom's loving gaze, creating a powerful and intimate portrait.
A stolen glance filled with affection. I often look for these subtle interactions throughout the day, as they make for some of the most memorable and authentic wedding photographs.
About this collection
I don't believe in making you hold uncomfortable poses for minutes on end. During our session, we will keep things moving—walking, talking, or just taking a moment to breathe—while I capture the interactions that happen naturally. Bring two outfits that you actually feel like yourselves in, and we will use the 3-4 hours to get shots that feel honest, not rehearsed.
How We Work
My approach to couple portraits is simple: we pick a location in Bangalore that fits your vibe, whether it's the greenery at Lalbagh or a quiet spot in a resort. I use a Nikon Z6ii mirrorless setup, which is great for low-light situations and getting sharp, detailed portraits without needing a massive studio light setup.
The Session Format
We get 3 to 4 hours of shooting time. This gives us enough room to settle in. Most couples feel awkward for the first 15 minutes, and that is normal. We use that time to warm up. Once you are comfortable, that is when the best shots happen. You can have two outfit changes—I suggest one traditional and one casual—so you get a mix of looks to use for your digital invites or just to keep as memories.
Deliverables
You will receive 30-40 high-resolution edited images. I handle the color grading myself, focusing on either a moody aesthetic or vibrant, true-to-life tones depending on the setting. You will get a few quick teasers within 48 hours to share on social media, and the full set arrives in your inbox within 10-14 days. If you are planning an engagement or a pre-wedding shoot, this session covers exactly what you need to document the start of your journey.
Portraitsbysham
I’m Sham. I spend my time behind a Nikon Z6ii, looking for the quiet moments people usually miss at events. I don’t do over-the-top direction because I want your portraits to look like you, not a magazine ad. If you want photos that feel real, we'll get along just fine.
