From mastering your first cone to creating intricate bridal portraits, this is where you start your professional journey as a mehendi artist.

Day 1 is all about the basics. Here, my students are in a cone making workshop, learning how to create the perfect tool for flawless mehendi application.

Watch a student from Dombivali perfecting her cone making skills. A well-made cone is the first step to achieving that professional finishing in your designs.

I teach my students how to roll and seal their own henna cones. We provide all the materials you need for the class.

A tip for beginners: I show the weighing machines I use for measuring henna powder accurately. Getting the henna mixology right is a crucial part of our one-day workshop and full course.

Before we touch the skin, we practice on paper. Here, students from all over Maharashtra are working on basic lines to develop a steady hand and control.

Students practicing intricate motifs and patterns on their sketchbooks. This paper practice is essential for mastering the details before moving to hands.

The struggle is real, but so is the progress! A student shows her practice sheet filled with dozens of motifs, showing the dedication it takes to perfect each element.

First experience after 30 days! It can be nerve-wracking to apply mehendi on a hand for the first time, but my students are excited to take this big step.

After 30 days of practicing on paper, it's time for the first trial on a hand. You can see the mix of excitement and nervousness as my students apply their first real designs.

My mehanati (hard-working) students during their 30-day exam. This is where they apply all the techniques they have learned on a full arm design for the first time.

About The Learning Journey: From Paper to Pro

The biggest hurdle isn't the design; it's the paste consistency. We don't start with skin—we start with coneology and paper drills until your lines are consistent. You will spend the first 25 days nailing the foundation of line work and pressure control before we even let you touch a hand, because that is where the real skill is built.
