About Divine & Spiritual Art
For these spiritual portraits, I use a stencil-transfer for the base outline to ensure the facial features and proportions are spot on. After that, I do the fine shading freehand using my 0.3mm tip cones to build that 3D depth. It is a slow process, but it makes sure the expressions look real, not just like a flat sticker.
When you choose a spiritual portrait, you are not just getting a design, you are wearing a piece of your faith. Over the last 10 years in Navi Mumbai, I have learned that the key to a good portrait is the expression. Whether it is the grace of Radha-Krishna on a jhula, or the protective presence of Swami Samarth, getting the eyes and the stance right changes the whole vibe.
I often use negative space techniques to make the figures pop against the background. For clients who want to integrate these with bridal work, I suggest placing them on the forearm or palm center. This ensures the deity remains the focal point while the surrounding traditional jali or floral patterns frame it beautifully.
We can work with any spiritual figure that holds meaning for your family. I have done Vithal-Rukmini, Shiva-Parvati, and Ganesha for many pujas and weddings across Mumbai. If you have a specific reference, send it to me a few days early. This gives me time to prepare the layout so I do not have to rush the application on your big day. Organic, triple-sifted henna is the only thing I use, so you get that rich, dark stain that lasts for your festivities.
