About On Set: The Creative Process
People often ask if my distorted, comic-book style images for the GoDesi campaign were done in post-production. They were not. We built those proportions using clever in-camera lens distortion and practical set design on the day. I prefer getting the final look right on the sensor so the energy stays raw and real, rather than relying on heavy digital editing later.
How I Build a Shoot
My process starts long before the camera comes out. Whether it is a commercial campaign for a brand like Samsung or a creative product shoot, I get involved in the concept and pre-production stages. I believe that a great shot happens when the lighting, props, and direction align.
The In-Camera Approach
I am known for creating magic inside the camera. This means using techniques like advanced 3-point lighting setups, colored gels, and specific lens choices to get the mood right instantly. For my clients, this means less time spent waiting for heavy edits and more time seeing the vision come to life. During my tabletop product sessions, I use a tethered shooting setup. This lets you see the high-resolution files on a monitor in real-time, so we can make adjustments to the styling or composition together before moving to the next frame.
