Outdoor light is unforgiving. Unlike indoor events, natural sunlight highlights skin texture and reflects heat. I use specialized sweat-resistant fixing sprays and breathable HD bases that do not melt away, ensuring your makeup stays flawless from the first shot to the last, whether you are in a garden, on a beach, or at a heritage site.
When you are shooting outdoors, your makeup needs to be distinct from what you would wear for a wedding ceremony. My approach for pre-wedding and catalogue shoots focuses on two things: how the product sits on your skin under the sun, and how it translates on the camera lens.
Why Outdoor Makeup is Different
Natural daylight can reveal heavy cakey bases or harsh contouring. For these shoots, I prefer working with lighter, skin-like finishes that still provide full coverage for the camera. I use HD-friendly products like Kryolan or MAC that are designed to handle heat and movement without looking heavy in high-resolution photos.
