About Photoshoots & Pre-Wedding Shoots
Unlike regular event makeup, shoot makeup must handle harsh studio lights and bright natural sun without looking cakey or reflecting white in photos. I use specific high-definition bases and body illuminators on your arms and collarbones to ensure your skin glows evenly on camera. We coordinate with your photographer's mood board to match the lighting and theme of your location, ensuring your makeup is technically sound and stays fresh for the entire shoot.
Makeup for photoshoots is technically different from what you would wear to a party. For cameras, the focus is on texture, definition, and how your features interact with light.
The Flashback-Proof Factor
The biggest risk in photography makeup is the white cast you see in photos taken with flash. I use specialized HD foundations and concealers that photograph true-to-color. My kits are packed with brands like Nars and Charlotte Tilbury, which provide a high-end, skin-like finish that does not melt under hot studio lights or bright afternoon sun.
Defining Your Look
Before the shoot, we look at your outfit and the location. Is it a heritage architectural site? A lush garden? Or a sleek studio? If you are wearing a sleeveless gown, I apply body illuminator on your collarbones and arms to give your skin a healthy, editorial glow. We also discuss hairstyling that stays put—whether that means beachy waves for a natural, wind-blown look or a tight, sleek bun for high fashion.
My Process
- Mood Board Discussion: Share your reference photos with me. We will discuss the vibe—dramatic, romantic, or casual—and adjust the intensity of the eye makeup to match the mood.
- Deep Skin Prep: Every shoot begins with proper hydration using professional primers so your skin looks fresh and radiant, not flat.
- Transition-Ready: If you have multiple outfit changes, I ensure the base is set to handle the quick transitions without losing coverage or shine.
