Product Photography: The Behind-the-Scenes Process
Getting a perfect product shot involves more than just a camera click. It is a mix of lighting, styling, and patience. Here is a look at what goes into making your brand images stand out.
This video shows the behind-the-scenes of a creative shoot for a red chili powder brand. It often takes a whole team and many attempts to capture the perfect powder explosion for that one dynamic shot.
Here’s a quick look at how I create floating product shots for beverage brands. This in-camera technique gives a dynamic, zero-gravity effect that is great for grabbing attention.
This video shows a before and after of a sunscreen shoot. I started with a simple product shot and then added the water ripple effect and branding in post-production to create a refreshing, summery feel.
About The Process: From Setup to Final Shot
You see a clean, final image, but rarely the setup involved. Whether it is a liquid splash or a floating product, the difference between a standard shot and a campaign-ready image is often hours of rigging and lighting adjustments. I focus on these technical details so you get the precise visual result your brand needs.
Professional product photography is a blend of technical precision and creative setup. When I work on a project, whether it is for a local e-commerce store in Nashik or a national brand, the process remains consistent. It starts with conceptualizing the look—deciding on the right angles, textures, and lighting patterns that will make your product pop.
For high-end splash or hero shots, I use high-speed sync flash settings to freeze motion without any blur. This involves complex rigging, multiple plates, and advanced compositing in post-production. It is not just about the gear; it is about knowing how to control shadows and reflections to highlight the product’s best features. If you are looking at jewellery, cosmetics, or apparel, the lighting requirements change drastically. I use professional softboxes and studio setups to maintain consistent quality across all your catalogue images, ensuring they meet the technical standards for online marketplaces like Amazon or Flipkart.
My approach is results-oriented. I prefer to show the 'before and after' because I want you to understand the work required to turn a raw item into a standout advertisement. Whether you need clean white-background shots for a catalogue or dynamic styled images for a social media campaign, the goal is the same: to create imagery that speaks for itself. I operate out of a studio in Nashik but frequently travel to Mumbai, Pune, and across India for on-location shoots.
