Modern Indian Menswear That Redefines Tradition
I reinterpret traditional silhouettes through a lens of art and psychology. Expect armour-like panels, symbolic motifs, and architectural tailoring that moves with you.

About Modern Indian Menswear
Every ensemble starts with a conversation about you. Before the first stitch, I sketch and source fabrics to ensure the structure—whether it's an angular armour panel or a beaded lotus motif—feels like a second skin. You will have at least two fittings to ensure the fall of the fabric aligns with your body and movement, not just your measurements.
Architecture in Fabric
My take on Indian menswear isn't about following the season's trend. It is about constructing a narrative. I view the kurta, the sherwani, and the jacket as canvases. My "Electric Noir" collection, for instance, utilizes cobalt panels and angular geometry to transform a classic silhouette into something resembling modern armour.
The Role of Symbolism
Detailing is where I ground the chaos of design. You will find recurring motifs throughout this collection:
- The Lotus: Reimagined in pearl embroidery to represent quiet power.
- Folklore Patterns: Integrated into monochromatic weaves to bridge the gap between ancient ritual and the modern street.
- Hardware: Industrial zippers and metallic studs that add a sharp, tactile edge to otherwise fluid fabrics.
My Process
When you come to my Defence Colony studio, we don't just pick a size. We build a piece. We begin with a consultation to understand your personality and the event you are dressing for. From there, I plan the construction—selecting between structured silks, structured poly-wools, or linen blends. The goal is a fit that feels natural but looks striking. If you are looking for an ensemble that balances traditional roots with a fearless, futuristic edge, this is where we start.
Saggar Mehra
I treat menswear as a canvas to organize chaos. My studio is where I take the traditional, strip it down, and rebuild it into something sharp, symbolic, and entirely yours.
