Premium Kitchen Finishes and Lighting
Transform your kitchen with the right textures and light. Discover how fluted glass, high-gloss laminates, and strategic profile lighting create a luxury look that fits your daily routine.
Here, I used fluted glass shutters on the upper cabinets to add texture and a modern feel. This is combined with my signature profile lighting under the cabinets, which not only illuminates the workspace on the black countertop but also highlights the subway tile backsplash.
This kitchen showcases a mix of premium finishes. I used a solid sage green high-gloss laminate for the main cabinets, a natural wood veneer for accent panels, and a durable black stone for the countertop and island. The designer pendant light acts as a centerpiece.
For a bold and dramatic kitchen, I use a combination of dark materials and focused lighting. This design features matte black cabinets and an island, contrasted with wood-finish tall units. The track lighting on the ceiling is adjustable to highlight different zones.
About Premium Finishes & Lighting
Lighting changes everything in a kitchen. Adding recessed profile lights under cabinets doesn't just look good; it removes shadows, making the workspace safer and more practical. We often pair this with fluted glass shutters on overhead units. These break up the solid look of cabinets, hiding what is inside while adding a modern, textured element that makes the room feel larger.
Achieving a luxury look in a kitchen is less about expensive decor and more about choosing materials that perform well over time. My approach focuses on specific combinations that offer both durability and high-end aesthetics.
Why Material Matters
In our kitchens, we primarily use HDHMR (High Moisture Resistant) boards instead of standard plywood for the main structure. It handles kitchen humidity much better. For areas under the sink, I always recommend WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) boards because they are 100% waterproof. This prevents the common problem of cabinet bottoms rotting after a few years of water splashes.
Adding Texture and Depth
If you want to move away from plain laminate, we look at alternatives:
- Fluted Glass: This is excellent for overhead units. It adds a premium, ribbed texture that softens the view, which is perfect if you want to display crockery without a messy look.
- High-Gloss vs. Matte: High-gloss is great for reflecting light in smaller Gurugram apartments, while matte finishes—especially in darker, solid colors—give a sophisticated, modern vibe. We can mix these to create a two-tone kitchen that feels custom-made.
The Role of Lighting
Lighting is not just an afterthought. Our signature profile lighting is installed under wall cabinets, inside deep drawers, and sometimes even inside glass-front units. It serves two purposes: it highlights your countertop and workspace clearly, and it adds a warm, ambient glow that changes the kitchen's atmosphere in the evening. We use reliable LED strips that are recessed into the cabinetry, so you never see the light source, only the light itself. This attention to detail defines our finish, ensuring your kitchen looks as good as it functions.
