About Outdoor & Natural Light
When we move out of the studio, we trade controlled props for the unpredictable joy of nature. The wind, the grass, and the soft sunlight do most of the work, but it means we have to be ready to pivot based on your child's mood and the weather. These sessions are less rigid than indoor shoots, but the candid, free-spirited photos we get are often the ones parents end up framing in their living rooms.
Moving your photoshoot outdoors brings a different energy to the portraits. While our indoor studio sessions are perfect for precise themes and controlled environments, an outdoor shoot allows children to play, run, and interact with the world around them. This results in genuine expressions and movement that feel less posed and more like real life.
How We Manage Outdoor Sessions
We select locations in and around Bangalore that provide a balance of privacy and scenic beauty. We do not just show up and start shooting. We arrive early to scout the best light and clear the space of any distractions. We bring along portable props like teepees, blankets, and chairs to create a comfortable anchor point, but the priority is giving your child space to be themselves.
Timing is Everything
For outdoor photography, we are at the mercy of the sun. We typically schedule these sessions during the 'golden hour'—the hour right after sunrise or the hour before sunset. This is when the light is softest and most flattering for skin tones. If your child is an early riser, morning sessions are often the best bet as the light is cool and even.
Practical Details
- Weather: We always keep an eye on the forecast. If the weather looks unpredictable, we will be in touch 24 hours in advance to reschedule.
- Comfort: We recommend bringing a change of clothes, plenty of water, and your child's favorite snack. Outdoor environments can be more stimulating, and having familiar items on hand helps keep them happy.
- Wardrobe: Simple, airy clothing works best. Avoid busy patterns that clash with the background colors of the park or garden.
