My Approach to the Marathi Bridal Look
When I work with Maharashtrian brides, the goal is always balance. The traditional attire is heavy and vibrant, so the makeup needs to complement that without overpowering your natural features.
The Base & Skin My priority is creating a long-lasting base that survives the heat and long hours. I use specific techniques to ensure the skin remains hydrated and glowing, not oily or patchy. This is the foundation of the 'bridal glow' I am known for, and it is a core module in my training academy.
Traditional Elements Every Marathi bride has distinct elements that must be perfect.
- The Nath: I ensure the eyes and cheekbones are highlighted to draw attention to the nose ring, which is the center of the traditional look.
- The Bindi: I take time to place the crescent bindi precisely, as it frames the face and defines the Maharashtrian aesthetic.
- Eye Makeup: Soft pinks, golds, and browns are my go-to choices. They look elegant with traditional saree colors like yellow, green, or maroon, and they age well in wedding photos.
