When I shoot on location, it is about more than just the plating. For this Jaipur project, we used the Hawa Mahal as our natural lighting and architectural frame to elevate a standard thali into a story. The Technical Side
Shooting outside brings challenges: harsh midday sun, crowds, and changing light conditions. My approach balances these variables.
- Natural Light Management: I use a mix of bounce cards and soft modifiers to keep the product properly lit while retaining the atmospheric background.
- Composition: We frame the product to interact with the environment, not just sit in front of it.
- Flexibility: I carry a compact, high-mobility kit. This means I can set up quickly, grab the hero shots, and move to the next angle before the food cools down.
