Custom Storytelling and Portrait Henna Designs
Your story deserves to be told, even in your mehendi. Whether it is your proposal moment or a tribute to your family, I translate your memories into intricate, natural henna art.
This full bridal design is a perfect example of storytelling. It combines the couple's portrait, a Ganesha motif for blessings, and a depiction of the 'Kanya Daan' ceremony, creating a complete wedding story.
A simple phrase can hold so much meaning. This 'Papa ki Laadli' design is a popular request from brides who want to honor their fathers on their special day.
Celebrating an engagement with a henna countdown. This design captures the proposal moment on one hand and the couple on the other, with "148 Days To Go" marking the start of their wedding journey.
Henna is for everyone. I created this design for a 14-year-old, capturing her personality with a self-portrait on one hand and a depiction of her looking towards her dreams on the other.
A design for the devout, this henna features portraits of Radha and Krishna. It’s a beautiful way to carry your faith and love for mythology with you during a festive occasion.
About this collection
When we plan your custom henna, I typically sketch out your story elements like a proposal scene or family portrait during our initial consultation. Because portraits require high-detail line work, these designs usually take longer than standard patterns, so we should plan for extra sitting time to ensure every detail comes out perfectly.
Every person has a story, and I find that henna is one of the most beautiful ways to wear that narrative. My approach to portrait and storytelling mehendi is entirely collaborative. We start by identifying the moments that matter most to you. It might be a silhouette of the proposal moment, a traditional Ganesha motif for blessings, or a portrait of a loved one like a parent for a 'Papa ki Laadli' design. I have been refining these custom techniques since 2015, and the key to a good portrait on skin is balancing the facial features with the surrounding intricate Jali or floral patterns.
Technically, this is different from standard bridal mehendi. These designs are high-density, meaning they require a steady hand and a specific type of natural cone flow to get the shading right. I use my own 100% natural herbal henna, mixed with Nilgiri oil, which I have found gives the deepest stain. Because custom portraits rely on precision, I always advise clients to book their sessions well in advance. This gives us time to discuss the sketches, verify the details, and ensure I am fully prepared for the specific spacing and composition your hands require. Whether you are in South Bangalore or elsewhere in the city, I travel to your venue, fully equipped to sit for the longer duration these intricate, personalized pieces demand.
