Custom Media Walls & TV Unit Designs
I design media walls that handle your storage needs while keeping your living room looking clean, open, and modern.
This close-up shows the details of the custom media unit. The combination of a black panel, a floating white console, and open, backlit shelving creates a design that is visually light yet provides ample space for electronics and decor.
For this TV unit design, I used a veneer panel with a geometric pattern to create a textured and artistic feature wall. The floating console and asymmetrical shelving add a modern, minimalist touch to this beautiful and functional piece.
This concept showcases a completely integrated storage solution. The minimalist white TV unit is flanked by custom cabinetry, including a mirrored bar unit and a dedicated pooja (prayer) unit, demonstrating how I tailor designs to a client's specific needs.
This video shows a recently completed TV unit with a high-gloss white PU finish. I designed it to be sleek and minimalist, with handle-less drawers and ample storage to keep the living area looking clean and elegant. The TV is mounted directly to the wall for a seamless look.
About Functional Focal Points: Media Walls & Storage
A functional media wall is the anchor of a living room. I focus on integrating storage that actually works for your daily routine, whether that means hiding unsightly wiring, creating dedicated space for electronics, or blending in crockery and pooja units. Whether we use durable laminates for an essential upgrade or high-gloss PU finishes for a luxe look, the goal is always a unit that stays tidy while reflecting your personal style.
In my experience, a TV unit often becomes a magnet for clutter. My approach is to treat the media wall as both a focal point and a smart storage solution.
Designing for your Space
If you have a smaller apartment, I often recommend floating consoles. They keep the floor space visible, which tricks the eye into seeing more room. For larger areas, we can explore floor-to-ceiling cabinetry that integrates your TV with display shelving, library space, or even concealed bar units.
Material Selection
- Essential Modern: We use 1mm laminates on commercial plywood. This is perfect for high-traffic homes where durability and budget are the priorities. The finish is consistent, easy to clean, and comes in various textures.
- Signature Luxe: For those wanting a more polished look, I recommend PU (Polyurethane) coating. It provides a seamless, smooth finish that looks incredibly high-end, especially when combined with charcoal louvers or fluted panels for texture.
The Practical Details
Beyond looks, I always prioritize accessibility. We plan your electrical points early so your soundbar, gaming consoles, and set-top boxes have power without visible cables. My team and I ensure the layout works for your specific viewing distance and furniture height so your living room feels comfortable, not just good on camera.
