Master Mental Math with Abacus Classes
From beads to brain power: See how our students turn into human calculators with fun, skill-building abacus techniques.
Watch one of my students, Anshit, solve a seven-row calculation in just 0.9 seconds using only mental visualization. This is the kind of speed and focus I help children develop.
Here, you can see a student tackling large, three-digit numbers on the wall-mounted abacus. This tool is excellent for helping children visualize numbers and build a strong foundation for complex calculations.
In my classroom, I emphasize the visualization method. This trains students to perform calculations in their minds without relying on a physical tool, which is a skill they can use anywhere, anytime.
I am proud that my course, offered through Brainiac Gym Academy, is officially approved by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). This government certification assures parents of a high-quality, standardized curriculum.
I believe in making math practical. In this video, I challenge a student with a real-life grocery shopping scenario to show how abacus skills apply to everyday situations, making them confident with numbers outside the classroom.
Teamwork makes learning fun. Watch two of my students work together on the master abacus, solving a double-digit sum. This friendly competition helps improve their speed and accuracy.
Here are some exciting glimpses from the National Level Abacus Championship. I encourage my students to participate in such events to build their confidence and showcase their incredible talent.
About this collection
At my centers in Ashok Nagar and Fateh Nagar, we start with physical tools to build a strong base, but my real focus is 'Air Math'—the visualization method. This is where your child moves from counting on fingers to calculating large digits in their head within seconds. It is not just about math speed, it is about giving them a mental skill that makes every school subject feel easier.
Building a Human Calculator
I have been teaching since 2000, and if there is one thing I know, it is that maths does not have to be scary. My Abacus program, run in collaboration with Brainiac Gym Academy, is designed to take the fear out of numbers.
We focus on two main things:
- Concept Clarity: Using physical tools initially to understand the logic, not just rote memorization.
- Visualization (Air Math): Training the brain to solve problems without the tool, leading to speed and sharpness.
Why Choose Our Classes
- NSDC Certified: My course follows the government-approved Skill India curriculum, ensuring your child learns a standardized and effective method.
- Flexible Learning: I offer both offline classes at my Ashok Nagar and Fateh Nagar centers, and live online sessions for those who cannot travel.
- Real-Life Practice: Math should be useful. We do not just solve sums on paper; we practice real-world scenarios like bill calculations and logic puzzles to build practical problem-solving skills.
- Competitive Spirit: I host free weekly competitions every Sunday at Fateh Nagar to help students lose stage fright and get comfortable with testing environments.
Who This Is For
Whether your child is struggling with basic addition or you just want to give them an edge in mental math, these small-batch classes provide the personal attention they need. We maintain small groups (8-15 students) to ensure every child gets the doubt-solving support they require. My goal is simple: to make learning enjoyable and help your child become a confident, independent thinker.
Rishu's Tutorials
I'm Kulvinder, and for over two decades, I have seen how a little bit of practice changes a child's entire approach to school. I teach because I want to help kids lose their fear of numbers, and it genuinely makes my day to see them gain that confidence.
