Custom Ocean & River Resin Tables
I bring the coast to your living room. Using live-edge Acacia and Teak wood combined with crystal-clear, deep-pour resin, I craft tables that look like a slice of the ocean. Let's build your piece.
This 8x4 ft ocean dining table was a massive project, but the result was worth every bit of effort. I used deep blue pigments and created multiple layers of waves to give it a realistic, moving ocean effect, complete with a central island.
A closer look at a round ocean table where the beach meets the sea. I combined a natural wood slice with sandy textures, miniature palm trees, and vibrant blue resin to create a detailed tropical scene.
This side table is a perfect example of a complete miniature world. It features a sandy beach, a flowing river, and a deep blue ocean section, all within a single piece of wood.
A student proudly displays her finished river and road dining table from one of my workshops. She learned how to create the ocean waves, sandy beach, and even the miniature road scene.
This video shows the process of creating realistic ocean waves on a river table. Using a heat gun, I manipulate the white pigment to form delicate, lacy patterns that mimic sea foam.
Pouring the deep blue resin is one of the most satisfying steps in creating a river table. This piece features a beautiful wood grain that acts as the riverbanks, filled with translucent blue epoxy.
A student in my workshop admires her nearly finished ocean table. You can see the incredible detail of the wooden islands surrounded by turquoise water and white-capped waves.
The final buffing stage is what brings out the incredible shine on this ocean table. Here, you can see the miniature killer whales swimming in the crystal-clear resin.
Adding the final details to an ocean-themed piece. I'm carefully placing miniature turtles and creating the shoreline with white resin to complete this tranquil sea scene.
This large, rectangular piece shows a dramatic coastline with crashing waves against wooden cliffs. The contrast between the dark wood and the vibrant blue water makes it a powerful statement piece.
About Ocean & River Tables
Before you commit, know this: these tables are not just poured resin. I use live-edge slabs where the natural wood grain dictates the flow, not just the frame. I hand-manipulate every wave layer with a heat gun to get that realistic sea-foam effect, and the final 2000-grit buffing ensures the surface is durable enough for daily use, not just for display.
Every piece I create starts with the wood. Whether it is an Acacia slab with its wild, dark knots or Teak with straight, reliable grain, I let the wood tell me where the river should flow.
The Process
It takes time to get that 3D look. I pour layers of UV-resistant, non-yellowing epoxy, waiting days between pours to ensure clarity and depth. For the ocean series, I use different pigments to create a gradient from shallow turquoise shores to deep, dark blue channels. If you want a diorama—like a miniature forest, road, or boat—I build those into the resin before the final sealing layer.
Practical Details
- Durability: I buff surfaces to a high gloss using 2000-grit polish and seal them with nano-coating for scratch resistance.
- Maintenance: A simple microfiber cloth is all you need. Keep them away from extreme heat sources like hot pans directly on the surface.
- Customization: You bring the vision. Want a river filled with crushed stones, or perhaps a clear patch to show off a specific wood feature? We can do that.
I treat every table as if it were going into my own home. If you are looking for mass-produced furniture, this isn't it. If you want a piece of functional art that changes as the light hits it, let’s talk.
