Architectural Concept Design and Facade Illustrations
A look into our early-stage design process. We use these illustrations to explore form, light, and materiality before breaking ground on commercial and mixed-use projects.
This stylized illustration represents our conceptual design for a commercial building. We use this graphic style in early project stages to explore bold forms, color palettes, and the building's overall massing and presence in a landscape.
A facade concept illustration for a mixed-use development on MG Road, Bengaluru. Here, we explored combining modern steel sections with traditional 'Jaali' patterns to create a layered and culturally resonant building exterior.
About Architectural Concepts & Illustrations
Before we commit to construction drawings, we test our ideas through these digital concept illustrations. This stage helps us refine crucial elements like facade shading, structural glazing, and the integration of traditional materials like stone Jaali into modern steel frameworks, ensuring the final building functions as well as it looks.
Why We Start with Conceptual Illustration
Architectural visualization serves as our primary tool for testing structural feasibility and aesthetic intent. By creating these detailed digital mock-ups, we can study how a building responds to the local climate. We test solar orientation, ventilation, and the impact of shading devices like louvers or brick screens early in the process.
Integrating Tradition and Modernity
Our approach often involves bridging contemporary needs with traditional architectural elements. For projects like our mixed-use development on MG Road, we experimented with merging industrial steel sections and structural glazing with local Jaali patterns. This technique allows us to achieve a modern aesthetic that remains grounded in the local context, providing natural cooling while adding character to the facade.
From Concept to Construction
These illustrations are not just aesthetic exercises. They inform our Good for Construction drawings, MEP coordination, and material palettes. When we present these concepts, our clients gain a clear understanding of the building massing, how it will sit on the plot, and how different materials will weather over time. This transparency ensures that the vision established during the concept phase remains consistent through to the final handover.
