The Bhoomi Program: Supporting Future Tennis Talent
We travel across India to identify raw tennis talent in underserved communities, providing them with a complete pathway to professional sport and formal education.
Our talent search for the youth tennis sponsorship program knows no bounds. This video shows our team in Srinagar, scouting for kids with athletic potential and a passion for the game, as we believe talent can be found anywhere in India.
I am personally involved in every step of the selection process for our tennis scholarship. Here, I am assessing young aspirants during a scouting camp, looking for the raw talent and determination that we can nurture into tennis excellence.

Every interaction is a chance to inspire. I make it a point to connect with the children during our scouting camps, sharing my passion for tennis and showing them what's possible with hard work and dedication.

About this collection
Unlike standard coaching, this is a fully residential scholarship model where we cover everything from formal CBSE schooling at The Sports School to professional-grade recovery protocols like hydrotherapy. It is a commitment to the whole person, ensuring that while the kids hone their court technique, their academic development and nutrition are never sidelined.
The Bhoomi Program was born out of a simple observation: India has immense raw talent, but many children in remote regions never get the chance to step onto a professional tennis court. Our mission is to bridge that gap.
How the Program Works
When we scout in places like Assam, Kashmir, or Majuli Island, we are not just looking for the best swing. We look for focus, athletic potential, and a hunger to learn. Once selected, these children relocate to our residential campus at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bangalore.
A Holistic Pathway
We believe a champion is built off the court as much as on it. Our scholars receive:
- Academic Integration: We partner with The Sports School to ensure every child continues their formal education from Grade 4 onwards.
- Elite Training: Two daily tennis sessions on international-standard acrylic hard courts, led by our senior coaching team.
- Recovery and Health: Access to gym facilities, strength training, and recovery protocols like ice baths and hydrotherapy, which are vital for preventing injury.
- Personal Development: We include language upskilling and mentorship to help these children grow into confident individuals.
Partnering for Impact
This initiative is a collective effort. With support from the Kamal India Foundation UK and The Sports School, we remove the financial barriers that prevent talented youth from pursuing the sport. By providing boarding, food, and high-performance equipment, we aim to ensure that a child's background never dictates their potential in tennis.
Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy
We built this academy to create pathways for kids who have the drive but not the resources. Through the Bhoomi Program, we bring these young players into our residential setup, giving them the same access to international-grade courts, schooling, and mentorship that a professional athlete needs.
